I founded CrossPond Law in 2017, with a goal of providing quality, affordable global patent and trademark protection to clients.
CrossPond Law is a different kind of firm. I can focus on clients more effectively because I've been the client most of my career. I have been in-house counsel at different technology companies in the Bay Area since 2001. I've been involved with the business decisions that drive the legal decisions on the client side, which helped me understand the business concerns that drive patent and trademark filing, IP strategy, and patent portfolio management. I have helped companies ramp up their patent filings at an early stage, when that is what investors value. I've also helped clients to right-size and focus their patent portfolios at a more mature stage, when that is also what investors (and the finance department!) value.
Because I've been in the client position, I have learned some of the things that clients want from their outside counsel: responsiveness, quality, transparency, and avoiding surprises in bills. I aim to deliver to clients what I always wanted and and expected when I was a client.
Before becoming an attorney, I was an engineer working on the Space Station program. I still have a keen interest in spaceflight, and I will never get bored or lose my sense of wonder at seeing a Falcon 9 or other rocket fly back to the launch pad and land vertically like a 50s sci-fi movie.
